Graphic Experience has supported, displayed and sold art on the BLVD since 1977. We have been supporting the work of local artists through thick and then especially this past year as the BLVD was closed for a long time. However we are grateful because the City seems to finally recognize the importance of art to the Antelope Valley and are catching up with us ; )

Lancaster, CA December 28, 2010- The Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery, and the Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery Associates are currently seeking art entries for “look here.”, LMAG’s 26th Juried Art Exhibition. The exhibition is open to artists of all ages who are current High Desert residents working in all types of fine arts media including nontraditional, electronic and digital media. A number of cash prizes will be awarded. Artist applications and guidelines are available in person at the Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery or Lancaster City Hall Department of Parks, Recreation and Arts, or online at the museum’s juried exhibition website http://www.cityoflancasterca.org/index.aspx?page=767. Submissions must be received by mail or in person by 4 pm on January 24, 2010. Artists will be notified of inclusion on January 26th.
Situated at a threshold between old and new, past and future, LMAG’s twenty-sixth juried art exhibition embraces the idea of being “in between” by expanding to the streets. The exhibition will turn The BLVD into a temporary museum. Through collaborations between LMAG, BLVD businesses and participating artists, the exhibition explores the idea that virtually any place can be designated a museum and recognized as aesthetically or historically valuable. Selected artworks will be publicly displayed in and around BLVD businesses, each with identifying signage and labels indicating that they are part of “look here.” The BLVD itself will be transformed into a connecting gallery through highly recognizable displays and way finding. “look here.” asks the artists of the High Desert to lead the way; to forge a path in creating a collaborative, collective and civic juried art exhibition on The BLVD which will cross that threshold into the new museum.
“look here.” accepts artwork submissions in any medium, from oil paintings to electronic circuits. The exhibition seeks to present the wide variety of artistic expression resident in the High Desert. Shirlae Cheng-Lifshin from the Pasadena Museum of California Art and Los Angeles-based painter Gegam Kacherian will be the jurors for “look here.” and will draw upon their curatorial and art-making experiences to select works for public display at the museum and throughout The BLVD.

Dance Studio ‘81, Aven’s Furniture, Bandstand Coffee, Bella West Salon, Caramel Pastries, Daisy’s Costumes, Graphic Experience, King Photo Supply/BLVD Today Café, Lancaster Performing Arts Center, Perk Place Coffee House, and Sewability. “look here. The 26th Juried Art Exhibition” will be on view February 5-March 27, 2011 with a special opening reception and award presentation on February 4, 2010 beginning at 5 pm. The museum will present exhibition related events and activities that will encourage visitors to interact with and learn from the variety of creative talent on display.
